small steps = BIG CHANGES

Great news, the government are asking parents to participate in developing services for families who have children with disabilities. Redcar and Cleveland are being proactive and asking Contact a Family to facilitate events for parents run by parents.

The first conference on 24th November 08 was a success where 50+ parents and carers attended. Parents thought the focus for their area should be around Information, Key Working and Short Breaks.

There are now 3 "focus groups" arranged to work alongside professionals addressing these key issues.

The groups will report back to the next conference, to be held at Guisbrough Hall Hotel on 13th May.
