How can we help

The MAIN Project can offer the following:-

Resources

We have a well stocked resource room, full of books, videos, dvd's and CD ROMs, also internet access to help you find all the latest information about Autistic Spectrum Disorders. The Wigit programme is installed on the computer so parents/carers and professionals can create their own visual timetables for their child.

Training

We run a number of seminars and short courses each year attracting high quality speakers to the area.

All our events can be found on our website, which is updated regularly. The project officer can also offer to professionals and parents alike, training to suit their particular needs. Some of our events are free, because of available funding, some we charge for, to cover costs of venues, speakers and catering. Please view our training charges here.

Support & Advice

The Project Officer is based on the Beverley School site in a separate building and can offer, in conjunction with other services and agencies:

  • Advice & Support
  • Meeting Room
  • Information
  • Opportunities to meet other parents
  • Home Visits & Assessments
  • Regular update on local and national agencies, organisations and services

Services

We run a successful ‘social club' for secondary aged children with Aspergers syndrome, High Functioning Autism, or PDD. The club is a fun place to come, where special interests are encouraged, and social and communications skills are developed. We are opening a new social club based in Stockton, opening June 08.

We are always looking for and are open to new ideas to support families, children and professional.

We are also currently developing a volunteer based services to family's and children within the Tees Valley Area, and Social Groups for young adults aged 19-26.
