Job Description
The MAIN Project supports children, adults and their families with Ausitic Spectrum Condition, in offering advice and guidance sessions along with 1-1 outreach support in the communtiy, short break respite for families, such as aftershool club facilities, playschemes, weekend clubs, to name but a few. Currently The MAIN Project has a club facilitator vacancy, this role is detailed below:
Club Facilitator
Base: Various Locations throughout the Tees Valley Area both within the community and specific locations
The Role
Plan coordinate and supervise a programme of activities in consultation with Service Officer and Management, managing the day to day operation of individual group sessions.
Ensuring that outreach workers work within the guidance set out in policies and procedures, following health and safety policies and individual support plans, moving them towards meeting agreed outcomes.
Maintain records relating to participating children, their attendance and any accidents or incidents relating to any specific service such as social clubs, playschemes, 1-1 support
To work with adults and children both in a 1-1 setting and within groups.
Maintain quality of service provision including, assisting with service development by contributing to planning, delivery and monitoring of our service, including regular feedback to the Service Officer.
Carrying out staff supervision with outreach workers, managing performance, highlighting staff training.
Awareness at all times of children's welfare developments and appropriate behaviour, including the use of appropriate specialist approaches for children with an Autistic Spectrum Condition.
The Candidate
We are looking for a good communicators, with excellent people skills. You will enjoy working with children, in a fun way. You will act as a positive role model encouraging the development of communication and social skills, with fun and challenging activities
Previous expereince of management as the successful candidate will have responsibility for managing their own outreach workers both within a club setting and on an outreach basis.
You will be a team player. You may have a special interest that you would like to share with the children i.e sports/creative art/cookery/drama/dance
Level 2/3 NVQ in childcare or proven experience and knowledge of working with children with an Autistic Spectrum Condition or additional needs.
Understanding of Equal Opportunities, Vulnerable Adults/Child Policies, Risk Assessments, Policies and Procedures, personalisation agenda
Autism Awareness Training will be provided for suitable candidates.
It is a requirement that all persons employed or volunteering for The Main Project have a Fully Enhanced CRB, which will be provided by The MAIN Project.
